Cotton Square Ancoats Now Launched

This Thursday, we were proud to launch our new development, Cotton Square Ancoats, at a well attended launch event.

FIRST-STEP’s Cotton Square boasts 23 unique apartments and townhouses, and even a new neighbourhood pub, in Manchester’s most dynamic and developing area; the hip urban village of Ancoats.

Taking its name and inspiration from the area’s rich textile mill heritage, Cotton Square will fuse original industrial features with cutting edge technology and contemporary design. This is a fitting approach to an inspirational location.

Ancoats is a conservation area with a rich industrial past. The location housed many mills, manufacturing mainly cotton, but also machinery, glass and newspapers. Its strong heritage can be seen today, in the area’s many listed mill buildings; most of which have been revitalised into stylish and contemporary places to live.

Ancoats’ revamped canals and squares have created a renewed sense of place for this unique urban village, which is blossoming into a destination for artisan restaurants, bars and specialist food retailers. Adjacent to Cotton Square is Rudy’s, a Neapolitan pizzeria celebrating the area’s heritage as ‘Little Italy’.

Also on Cotton Square’s doorstep is Ancoats’ communal hub, Cutting Room Square. Situated next to the canal and hosting community events on a regular basis, the Square allows residents and visitors to embrace the urban village vibe. It is also home to the Halle St Peters and Hope Mill Theatres which, alongside AWOL creative studios, contributes to Ancoats credentials as a cultural hotspot.

Cotton Square is the perfect place for families, with the Ancoats urban village offering a unique environment in which to raise young children. For instance, just five minutes’ walk will bring you to the newly built New Islington Free School, which is currently rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED.

In this city centre setting, getting around is not a problem with all major transport interchanges, such as Manchester Piccadilly and Shudehill, just a short stroll away. Trams, buses, coaches and trains are therefore all within close proximity.

FIRST-STEP hopes that potential buyers will be blown away by Cotton Square’s heritage, quality of design and all that Ancoats has to offer.

Construction starts late 2016 with homes available for living in 2017.

Prices start from £197,100 for two bedroom, two bathroom apartments and £380,825 for three bedroom, three bathroom townhouses with rooftop terraces.  Help to Buy Equity Loan available on all properties.
